This china cabinet was designed following the golden rule of proportions, so its two pieces which allow easy handling and travel, naturally merge together. The carved pineapple, the universal symbol for hospitality, in its crown welcomes your guests. It�s hand carved rope columns frame, hold and unite the two pieces into one. The top unit has glass doors to store and display your china while the base unit hold your silver and linen services in drawers and bar materials behind its lower doors.

Roses Buffet Console

The roses in this piece were designed as a sculpture to be applied on the �canvas� formed by the front of the console built to accompany our roses table. The treatment of the console roses is different from the those in the table making the two pieces a coherent set of distinctly asymmetrical components; different flower shapes, branches, roots and stages of bloom. Initially we wanted the front of the console in glass so as to be looking into a window thru a rose bush. But the art of the hand forged piece was so good its reflection in the glass was a distraction, making the piece busy. So we ended with our original design intention of making the console the canvas of the sculptured rose tree.

Santo Domingo Dining Table

This piece was inspired by a memorable combination of materials in the foyer table at the a bar of the Santo Domingo Hotel in Antigua Guatemala, a Colonial convent restored to perfection. Like the inspiration our table combines a wood top and a metal base. Our rendition reflects the colonial inspiration with curled endings both on the top and the bottom of its sturdy metal legs and a round, six person, hand rubbed mahogany top. At the same time having removed all unfunctional decorations � the bottom curl makes the table sure footed while the top curl is the stability lock for ring supporting the table�s top � the table is a modern artwork. And even more so with a glass top also. Dimensions: 68" x 29 1/2"

Centaur Tabouret

Mangrove Chair

This chair was done to complement our a figurative hand forged metal mangrove table. It is petit and easy to accommodate in any corner. The oval shape back was drawn when the forger ask me how I wanted the oval. Surprisingly he reproduced my sketch exactly as I had traced it, including the my signature traces outside the oval. When he showed me his work we laughed but liked it . My traces gave a perfect niche for the bird. Construction Notes: The back is one piece from top to bottom. So it is has a very strong of structure. The seat has a 3 inch high quality foam rubber sponge for comfort.

Matador Ottoman

Living in Spain one inevitably learns to appreciate the art of bullfighting. The matador is an athlete with tremendous valor, skills and ballerina movements. This piece was born from such memories. The perfectly shaped tight buttocks which the matador exhibits when brandishing his cape is captured by the back of the piece. The considerable "cojones" required to challenge a furious and deadly bull are suggested in the trademark crotch in the front of the ottoman. Dimensions: 16"w x 19 1/2"h

Rope Chair

This is one of my favorites. It is tropical yet it can fit in any decor. It is traditional because of the carving yet shows slick, modern lines. The best design craftsmanship detail of this chair is in the way the veined skirt goes around the legs. The dining table which partners this chair has this same detail but in a larger scale. The form of the leg was inspired in the shape of the classic Greek anfora vase. The leg rope carving has proportion and fluidity. The chair�s back is lineal, straight and simple making the uncarved back legs and skirt the contrast needed for balancing the intricate work of the piece.
