Gazelle Three Legs Side Table

Domesticating the wild spirit of a dangerously fast Gazelle so you could infuse her energy into your favorite rooms is the design intent of this piece, which is definitely one of our favorites. In spite of its recent design, the Gazelle’s animal roots imprint the piece with their ancient legacy. You can order the Gazelle: 1. with silver-gilded rings on the legs. This approach gives the piece ethnicity or 2. in its more unadorned rendition where the rings have subdued animal stripes. Construction Notes: We designed the legs to imitate the legs of the gazelle and our original artist proof was literally so. But unless it is a commissioned piece, repeatability is an important design criteria. So we sufficiently reduced the muscle mass of the Gazelle thighs so the legs could be turned in a lathe while keeping the hand carved hoofs. The piece still requires considerable hand carving to make the interior hollow of the legs and sculpt its rounded skirt. The top is secured to the legs with dowels and then carved to give the table a continuous surface. Dimensions: 18" top diameter x 25" height

Gothic Side Table

The thrust of Gothic philosophy has always captured my imagination. I believe that man’s quest for finding his higher self not only created the beautiful architecture which carries its name but also engendered a more civilized world. This piece is symbolic of that tradition. We use the elements of the ribbed vaulting to make the high arches in combination with an abstraction of the symbol of the upturned cross. The 18 inch by 18 inch wooden top is tinted black. The gold is symbolic of the 4 centuries opulence of the Gothic period. Dimensions: 18" x 18" x 25"H

Gothika Table

This design, as its name suggests, was originally conceived as a punk, almost S&M table with chains and barb wire nailed to the horn shaped legs. But before we took it to the forger for the kinky details, we refinished it with horn- realistic color. The new sheen brought out the extraordinary quality of the table's legs and skirt coupling. Following the "less is best" wisdom we left it as it is, kinks free, but kept the name. Dimensions: 21"w x 39"l x 17 ½"h

Orchid Table

This piece is a unique piece in a sense that it reminds us of art nouveau, yet it is not . Its legs have the shape of deers legs yet they are thoroughly modern. And the top has carved orchids which give it a very feminine touch. Yet when you look you can’t place her in any style. And that’s the mystery which makes me like it. Construction Notes: The four corners of the skirt and its legs of the table are all joined in a 45 degree angle fit. The frame is square and in the interior is oval. The oval is the frame that holds a oval beveled glass . There are three orchids carved in each of the four corners. The skirt also has carved cut-out orchids. To get the deer like legs, whose top are hollowed inside, our carver has to do his magic in all four of them. Dimensions: 31" height x 42" length x 18" width

Metal Shards Mirror

All damsels in distress long to be saved by a prince in shining armor while, at the same time, longing for self sufficient independence. This perennial dichotomy prompted the design. The round shape frame emulates a lifesaver. The cone-shaped medieval nails symbolize the wounds of life. Yet, the distribution of the shards in a crown symbolize our triumph in life. Downtown High Boy Dresser

Even though traditionally we tend to veer away from square boxes and linear furniture, this variation on the Chinese box was irresistible. The piece it is composed of eight drawers, a number whose symbol is used to denote infinity and is easy to remember. Its drawers increment in size from top to bottom so as to allow proper storage of mostly everything . The legs are hand forged metal braces that hug the wood structure making the piece virtually unbreakable, and its pullers are hand forged metal tear drops. Construction Notes: The dovetail technique is characteristic of our drawer assembly which in this case uses 3/4 inch cedar. The sliders are heavy duty so you can stuff to your hearts content, and all the wood is hand rubbed.... our signature finish .
