Chateau Dinner Table
This is obviously a french country inspiration piece.
We refined the legs in terms of carving
since french country furniture is basically rustic.
But its lines are rounded which makes this style familiar
and pleasant and turns an ambiance into the feeling of home.
Respecting the french style we did not tint the wood but kept it natural.

Crazy Horse Coffee Table
We designed this piece for comfortable, easy living.
A coffee table to rest your feet, serve as food tray, sit,
put your reading materials and the TV/CD/VCR/remote controls.
Rugged enough to survive food debris, liquid spills, dirty shoes,
normal living wear and tear plus the unexpected.
That goal required upholstering with distressed leather
which looks “old money” when new and grows richer with use and abuse.
Then we worked the conceptual size, height and proportions:
wide enough to sit or eat comfortably,
long enough to be in front irrespective of where one sat in the sofa.
We wanted it more warm than slick modern so we gave it rounded mahogany legs,
brass tacked the upholstery to the also mahogany base and finished the table
in a rich roasted-coffee color for contrast with it’s naturally distressed leather hue.

Metal Shards Mirror
All damsels in distress long to be saved by a prince in shining armor while,
at the same time, longing for self sufficient independence.
This perennial dichotomy prompted the design.
The round shape frame emulates a lifesaver.
The cone-shaped medieval nails symbolize the wounds of life.
Yet, the distribution of the shards in a crown
symbolize our triumph in life. Because at the end,
when the independence illusion is transcended,
we are all winners.

Most world argue that the object of a mirror is reflection,
but how that reflection is framed is what we pursued in this
minimalistic expression of imperial french design.

Downtown High Boy Dresser
Even though traditionally we tend to veer away from square boxes and linear furniture,
this variation on the Chinese box was irresistible.
The piece it is composed of eight drawers,
a number whose symbol is used to denote infinity and is easy to remember.
Its drawers increment in size from top to bottom so as to allow proper storage of mostly everything .
The legs are hand forged metal braces that hug the wood structure making the piece virtually unbreakable,
and its pullers are hand forged metal tear drops.
Construction Notes:
The dovetail technique is characteristic of our drawer assembly which in this case uses 3/4 inch cedar.
The sliders are heavy duty so you can stuff to your hearts content,
and all the wood is hand rubbed.... our signature finish .

Pineapple Patron Desk
This one of a kind piece is stunning, thus one of my favorites.
I think that anybody that looks at the piece,
particularly is they are knowledgeable on woodworking,
will conclude we can do anything in wood.
So it is a presentation piece of our capacities.
Designed for a customer with a very elegant lifestyle,
we were given the resources and a freedom to dream up and execute the piece.
Prior to the commission for the desk we had already developed the pineapple design
as a prototype for the base for a dining table.
We wanted the design to be recognizably a pineapple without being literal.
So we made a diamonds shaped abstraction of the fruit’s eyelets,
removed its eyes and kept the leaves as the crown for supporting the top.
The original prototype had three legs,
but because this version was going to carry significantly more weight
we gave the desk two four legged bases,
more than enough for the working and storage areas the client wanted.
For ease in transportation we made the two base legs and the desk separate;
a heavyweight campaign desk.

Acanthus Six Sided Roof Lantern
A hexagon shaped ceiling lantern, suspended on a chain,
detailed with stylized acanthus leaves softening each of its angles...
Both top and bottom are accented with
more prominent leaves to balance the piece.
This acanthine leafing can be considered one
of the most predominant of classical motifs in Western Culture.
Its a revisiting of those things tasteful and refined.

Autumn Wreath Chandelier
The yin of Spring & the yang of Fall light your life.
This lamp is inspired by the pre- Christian tradition of the Advent Wreath, famous for the golden colors of the fall leaves used in their construction.
The original were assembled by gathering and shaping young evergreen branches into circular forms representing the cycles of nature and thus the hope of their makers for an early spring. Once finished, the original version of the wreath was lit by four candles Our version has eight lights for balance and illumination.
Hang this over a dinning table, breakfast table, or in a sun room to lend an organic touch.
Design Notes:
The root of the coloring of our interpretation of the traditional wreath is ocher, a tint originally achieved by iron oxides mingled with varying amounts of clay and sand in yellow, brown and red. This treatment makes the colors and texture of our wreath appear to be the natural result of time and exposure to the elements.
Construction Notes:
The chandelier is made from one hollow iron rod which was hand forged to form the base for the lights and conduit for its electrical wires. The solid smaller rod forming the wreath's spiral cylinder is also one piece which was hand fired and shaped The hand cut leaves with hammered veins have a golden tone at the edge to evoke the turned tips of fall.

Ashford Oval Extension Table
This mansion sized dining table takes its named after Lord Ashford
from the fluted leg carvings originally designed for him in India.
We called it oval because to comfortably give ample elbow room to 14 guests,
an oval half moon is attached at each end of the table.
Many extension tables spend most of the year un-extended.
And we rather not weaken a lovingly built top by cutting it in half.
Plus the home of the table’s commissioner was being built
near a salty air environment which to us ruled out metal hardware extensions.
So we designed the half moon extensions to fit and lock into the skirts
at the ends of the table while robustly supported two wood beams which disappear when not in use.
The table looks finished both in its normal and extended conditions.

Grapevine China Cabinet
This piece was designed for a party loving couple who’s business is a winery. So the grapevine carving in the crown was a must. The piece was to be installed at a Caribbean beach estate. Natural cane doors were de rigeur. We gave it four drawers large enough to store silver and linen services for 16 guests while four cabinets have ample room to keep wine flowing during long weekend festivities. The china hutch was done in beveled glass to display china. To fit your needs, the piece can be customized in many way, for example the doors can be done in solid wood and the crown could display your carved coat of arms.

British Sofa
One of our favorites, the piece draws from the classical lines and legs which were originally designed for Lord Ashford when India was still a part of Her Majesty’s realm. Our version is more contemporary in its lines however it keeps the carving, exposed wood structure and bronze tacks of the original thus retaining its classical flavor. The sofa comes upholstered in distressed leather for an old money look or in a vintage design textile.
Construction Notes:
The solid mahogany structure of the sofa is constructed from 1 ½ inch to 3 inch doweled pieces. The cushions are assembled with 2 inch top quality foam rubber stuffed with hypoalergenic polyester fill. We can also stuff the cushions with goose down for those with this luxurious preference. The back cushions are 9 inch thick for extraordinary comfort and head rest .

History and ancient beliefs provided the source the inspiration.
We took the snake crowning Pharaoh's staff of power and the entwined snakes
of wisdom in the Caduceus and embodied them
into a throne for a deserving kings and queens.
Construction notes:
Once the wood frame of this piece is completed and made ready for carving,
it takes us over one month to finish carving the piece.
Once the craving is completed the snake’s body is painted with a light bronze tint
which is then over-painted with darker stains except where these stripes
appear in the snake’s body.
