This is a final Interior Design Thesis presentations in movie form, from different semesters and different students. In their final thesis presentation the student needs to show all the skills he learned at Harrington College. The students can choose a 30-50,000 square foot project of their choice for the portfolio. They are writing a client profile, collect information, get inspirations, research the direction of their project, create a concept, do the diagrams for a program, build a model, sketch, develop the project in floor plans, create sections, developed the space, 3 dimensional elements (like stairs/openings in the space) and do the renderings of the space. The students are writing an environmental statement of the project. They choose furniture, colors, contrasts, materials, and create a detail. The Students have to ’sell ‘the project to the teacher and the critics and present their final project with an impressive presentation.

Looking at the hard work of Harrington’s students, I feel inspired already. What a privilege it is to be a part of this amazing community of the future Interior Designers. Their Ideas are (still
) so original and fresh, their heads are full of Dreams, and their hearts are passionate about the major/life they chose.

We can’t wait to see their projects one day soon become reality.

Raw organic elements are becoming the new chic in furniture design. Integrating natural iron bases with reclaimed hardwood tops creates a warm inviting environment.

High design doesn’t always have to be a perfectly tailored object, just look at the mix of a polished chrome coffee table base with a free form recycled wood top. These elements mixed together will fit into any modern space.

Bringing together design elements from different parts of the world can have a exciting outcome, try to find the different influences that were introduced into this coffee table design.
Add some cool red upholstered dining chairs around this table and a one of a kind space is born.
Cast iron bases and distressed wood tops- industrial design has become a strong influence for furniture designers. Noir Trading is one of those unique companies, constantly mixing materials and different elements to create original products that are a must for anyone that wants their space to be dramatic, dynamic, but still warm and open.

Originally, YourFurnitureLink.com was supposed to give exposure to the “little guys” in the furniture industry. We now have few exceptions, and American Leather is one of them. Why are we featuring a company that needs no additional advertising? Because their pieces are so cool?

That too, but mostly because American Leather is among the few “big” vendors who care about their retailers, customers, and make their product with pride. Check out their clean lines, unique designs, and tell them we sent you.

Oh, and just to set the record straight, they are not just a leather upholsterer, their fabric line is quite impressive too.
