When it comes to design more times than most, simpler is better. This approach has definitely been taken to heart by Bolier & Company whose simply elegant furnishings will bring style, comfort and distinction to any home. Their passion for beauty and their desire to create pieces which offer clean lines and elegant shapes comes through in all aspects of their work. Above you see an interior space that has been designed using the company’s Atelier Collection. This collection offers modern sensibility while promoting comfort and use of quality materials.

Bolier offers a select porfolio of classic forms inspired by traditional fine furniture and shaped for modern lifestyles. Each piece reflects a dedication to design. The vision of Bolier comes from it’s founder, Christian Plasman, who draws on his three decades of experience working with respected industry leaders. With his knowledge of furniture, gained while working for Herman Miller, Baker Furniture and HBF, Plaman has created a great company offering exquisite pieces.

Some of my favorite Interiors are those which have a successful collection of furnishings from different era’s. Working with Bolier allows the consumer the opportunity to achieve this popular look. Because Bolier has designed their pieces to reflect some of the more memorable design periods in history. Bolier pieces range from casual elegance to refined luxury. Contemporary pieces of steel and glass paired with a traditional setee in dark wood and cream upholstry will transform your living room into a space worthy the cover of Elle DECOR.

Depending on your design sense and your prefered style I’m almost positive there is a piece of Furniture from Bolier with your name on it. Most notable style influences on Bolier & Co. are the mission period, neoclassicism, mid-century modernism and a mix from traditional Asian furnishings. So next time you’re fliping through your favorite design Magazine and get the inspiration for a mackover remember Bolier for amazing designs and beautiful craftsmenship.

Morning in the city might not be as inspiring as watching the sunrise over the Grand Canyon, but for so many of us it’s become apart of the daily grind. How about instead of grabbing the usual cup of joe from the bodega on the corner you wake up an extra hour earlier tomorrow and grab an omelet or some french toast at your favorite weekend brunch spot on a weekday! I know it’s crazy but I bet your day in the city will be much more enjoyable. And if the place has an outdoor seating area even better!

A furniture company for the new modernist. Sleek and chic, each piece of furniture in designed to fit into any modern environment. The Corbin chair shown above offers a comfortable seating option and an excellent design style. Perfect for your office lobby, living room, den, or as an accent chair in the bedroom. A great option for the lap top user is the Dell side table (seen above). The table pulls up to any chair or sofa and slides under the bottom, so you can work on your laptop with ease. This is also a great table to use while entertaining. Perfect for cocktails and a dish of nuts this style is the modern update of the “tv tray.”

One of my favorite things to do on a sunny summer afternoon is relax with a good book and a nice cold drink. The Bethany Arm Chair, above, is a great chair to kick back and relax in. Made of solid walnut and upholstered in black leather, which has been treated and is so comfortable and supple. This piece says high style but is offered at a great mid market price. Can you see yourself or your guest getting cozy in the Bethany arm chair? I know I do. It reminds me of a piece you might find in a home library or den. Where do you see the Bethany chair?

Nuevo has a variety of styles and collections ranging from classic modern to today’s contemporary. One of the more contemporary pieces is the Stephan Sofa, seen above top. This small scale piece is great for apartment or condo living. It’s also a great piece for those college students who are looking to furnish their first apartment. Sort of a classic through back, the Hermes Occasional Chair in white leather makes for a nice light weight chair that you can move around easy in the event of company. Light and airy is always a goal one tries to achieve in a modern interior and this chair will make it happen. My favorite dining table from Neuvo has to be the Victor. The tables black stone top and the tripod base are artistic and will add a sense of architectural style to your space.

Above: The Fresno Dining Table has great draftsman quality and style. The size is perfect for a six person dinner or offers a great alternative to a classic desk. Made of hard wood with turned legs this is a piece for all interiors. If you’re looking for stylish outdoor furniture Nuevo has several collections of woven pieces with soft cushions. The Low outdoor lounger fits to your form for maximum comfort and has a great sensual appearance that will make any one jealous.
Below: If you are looking to update, add or buy new lighting for your modern home Nuevo has an extensive collection of pendant lights, ceiling mounted pieces, floor and table lamps. Two of my favorite pendants are the Marina Pendant (below left) and Orba Pendant. (below right)

What inspires you? The color? The reflective quality of the water? The rough texture of the mountains?
Incorporate nature into your home with beautiful colored glass vases, a great new upholstery for that settee you’ve been meaning to get recovered or a nice print hung in your guest bathroom. Don’t forget to check out today’s blog for more inspiration.

I’ve often thought about how I would bring a sense of artfulness and whimsy into a home without using painted furniture or pieces found at art fairs, then I came in touch with TLS. TLS stands for Total Life Style. Which if you truly wanted to, you could furnish your entire home using TLS but, if you’re just looking to add a bit of life to a room, hallway or other interior space, this company offers a creative way to add some pizazz.

TLS offers only the most quality-manufactured product. All of their products are made of hardwood, which has been kiln-dried to 6-8% moisture content, assuring you that the upholstery frames and case goods will not crack or warp, regardless of the climate or season. Their trademarked ModuCoil? Suspension for the Upholstery is an industry standard, offering similar construction and feel as an eight Way Hand-Tie, but with improved quality offering a longer more useful product life.

TLS offers quality USA made upholstery with 3-4 week lead-times, and they keep an inventory of more than 95% of their case goods, so they can ship your order within a few days from their Indiana warehouse. TLS is truly original high-end design at mid-market prices. Home Décor Buyer Magazine founder, Jim Carper said, “I have never seen a company introduce so many new truly original products at one time.” TLS was invited into the prestigious InterHall section of the International Home Furnishing Center after their first High Point market. They have not, nor will they ever copy any other designer’s work, so you know you’ll be receiving the very best TLS has to offer.

Since 2002 TLS has been a family-owned and run business, delivering quality hardwood case goods and USA made upholstery with a focus on providing superior customer service. They’re scope of service is vast and no job is too large nor too small. TLS offers contract and hospitality clients the AutoCAD design capability to customize products for large projects as well as they focus on the needs of individual designers. TLS is however a direct to the trade business so you’ll need to go through a designer or showroom in order to purchase their great furnishings. A plus side to this is, TLS develops custom products for their retail clients. So what you or your designer see in a showroom is not found elsewhere.

Sometimes I find myself asking the question, where would we be without America’s favorite talk show host, Oprah Winfrey? Well for Randal Weeks and partners at Aidan Gray, they’d probably still be working in health care or at a large corporation. Inspired by an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Randal pushed to act on his dream and build something that he could be passionate about. “You will never be happy if you are not passionate about what you do,” Oprah said, a motto that took Randal a long time to uncover, but one that he lives by daily. This small but meaningful quote brought about the creation of Aidan Gray and continues to help the company create furniture pieces that feel and look like one of a kind antiques.

The Aidan Gray line represents a love for interiors, design and authentic products that exude “European Grandeur.” The line reaches all aspects of the interior. From furniture and chandeliers to candle sticks and mirrors. Aidan gray also offers beautiful garden accessories that will turn even the most modest of green spaces into a french country garden. Everything in the line is based on the partners desire for products made by hand. All of the pieces are designed and made with authentic materials such as solid wood, rustic metals, antique mirror, old painted finishes and silk appointments. This is how Aidan Gray received it’s name as being a go to furniture house for architecturally accurate home décor.

Inspired by classic french design the Annabel Club Chair, seen above, is constructed from European Oak. Each frame is carved and then burnished to a rustic patina. Seat cushion in hand tied springs which delivers a firmer seat lasting much longer than your basic stuffing. Each loose cushion is made of foam wrapped in down then set into a pocket before covering. All of Aidan Gray’s pieces have been rigorously designed and built to be heirloom pieces and should be treated as such.

Aidan Grays line of decorative accessories will compliment any room. From the most modern of home libraries to the sweetest summer beach home, these unique pieces will pull any space together.

It’s often said that the jewelry in interiors can be found in the details. One of my all time favorite places to provide a bit of sparkle is in the window treatments and there is one company who provides an extraordinary amount of variety when it comes to this area. Orion Ornamental Iron, Inc. is a decorative drapery hardware design and manufacturing company located in North Hollywood, California. The company has completed 25 years of manufacturing and continues to provide quality products to the wholesale trade. The company specializes in custom drapery hardware, iron drapery hardware, wood drapery hardware and contemporary drapery hardware among many other window drapery hardware products. The company is one of the leading suppliers of iron drapery sets, wood drapery sets and also individual window hardware components like iron finials, iron rods, wood finials and wood poles. The new KBlair Finials collection has crystal finials, resin finials, wood poles with inlay and matching decorative hardware accessories in over 40 exquisite finishes.

There is nothing like moving into a new home and having your windows covered right away. I understand that first hand and recommend that when you move make sure your windows are dressed and ready to go. There’s nothing more embarrisng than running to the bathroom in the midlle of the night and finding out your neighber, the night owl, can see right in your hallway window. So remember these three simple steps to covering your window. Step 1, make sure you have a nice blind or shade for optimum privacy. Step 2, choose a rod or double rod that fits your personal style and blends with the rest of your decor. (Tip for choosing the right finial: if you wouldn’t wear it, then don’t make your windows.) Step 3, depending on your rod system choose beautiful panels of fabric that embelish the room and give your space a sense of luxury, color, contrast, softness or which ever desired effect your looking for.

Orion’s innovative designs can be found in their iron finials, wood finials, crystal and glass finals, drapery rods, custom curtain rods, iron and wood poles, traversing rods, and other drapery hardware. With exceptional customer service, quick shipping and competitive pricing Orion continues to lead the decorative drapery hardware industry.

You know when you walk into somebody’s home and you see a piece of furniture that you look at and know you must absolutely have, or at least something like it? These are the pieces you’ve been looking for. Elegantly designed and intricately detailed, the furnishings from Christopher Guy will make anyone’s head turn. Christopher Guy’s furniture has completely brought a new sense of life to the the meaning of Furniture Designer. CG, as he is known in the design world, has received critical acclaim from the American Society of Interior Designers as being “at the front of 21st Century Interiors.” With clients like the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles and The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas you know this furniture is top notch. Known for his sweeping lines and the creation of his patented “Chris-X” leg, which can be seen in most of his chairs and lounge pieces, CG has brought “sexy back” to the furniture industry.

Christopher Guy takes the approach of designing furniture by combining elegance and fashion which have given these heirloom pieces a sense of utter sophistication. The designer’s choice, the chaise lounge seen above, draws instant attraction with sheer elegance and sensual appeal. Made from a variety of different natural hard woods and using only the finest fabrics, all of CG’s work meets even the most astringent quality tests. That’s right we are talking the highest of the high end. No detail has gone by the way side and every inch of wood has been selected for it’s strength and natural beauty.

CG’s design has the ability to make any house and it’s occupants come to life. Imagine sitting around a beautiful and large dining table with everyone in their own personalized seat. How fun is that? There are over forty dining chair options to choose from, so make sure you chhose well. The idea of the mixed chair dining room has become more and more popular over the last two years and I don’t see it going anywhere. Take for instance the four chairs seen above, place a pair of each of those chairs around one of Christopher Guy’s equally couragous dining tables and you have a space screaming for cocktail partys and family dinners. Now like I said earlier these pieces aren’t for the Ikea and Target crowd like myself, these pieces all need to be kept clean and well maintained. All of Christopher Guy’s furniture comes with instructions for wood and upholstry up keep so make sure you read the fine print before you break out the Pledge.

Whimsical and artistic, CG’s swirling tentacles of frosted blown glass entwine to create an extraordinarily luxurious lighting spectacle known as the Octopusy Chandelier.Inspired by the work of Dale Chihuly, CG hired a former Chihuly understudy to help with the creation of the Octopusy line of chandeliers. Equally as gorgeous as Chihuly’s own work, the Octopusy Chandelier would make an exciting addition to any home. I know I’d love to see one hanging in my dining room. The bold shapes and translucent glass will cast amazing shadows upon your space leaving your guests, and yourself, breathless with every turn of the corner. Availiabe in either black, white or a mix of the two, this chandelier has artistic expression and personality written all over it.

When you’re looking for your next or even your first, investment piece of furniture Make sure you look to Christopher Guy for originality, luxury, sophistication and all out sexy furniture.

Add Summer to your home with help from Delos Rug
Bored to tears with your living room but don’t have the funds to buy new furniture? Introduce a new burst of summertime flavor to your space with colorful accents from Delos Rugs. The best thing about Delos Rugs, they’re a made-to-order manufacturer. Which means you pick the design you like and choose from 200 colors to create an area rug all your own. There is no minimum size either, so you can turn any design into a hallway runner or actually carpet a room. These are all wool rugs so beware if you’re allergic. Delos wool comes from India or New Zealand but, make sure to ask about the difference in price when ordering because cost does vary. Create a coral reef in your dining room or bring a tropical jungle to the bedroom.

The company’s Footprint Collection will bring your home to the beach without worrying about all the sand. If you’re planning on purchasing a non-seasonal rug, make sure you choose colors that reflect your interior allowing you to add color through the use of accessories like art and pillows. Neutrals like tans, cream and browns, are always a good idea when purchasing a rug for year round use because, they work like a canvas for the space. Leaving you to creatively decorate for any season.

Liven up your screened in porch with the Icon Collection, whose bold geometrics will catch anyone’s eye. Depending on your color palette, you can take your space from weak to chic, but beware when investing in a large piece, make sure you choose colors you love and stay away from trends. Although bright yellow might be what’s hot this season it might not be next season. So really think about what color you love. What color makes you think about summer and include that in your seasonal rug choice.

Do you always hear people say you should try and bring the outdoors in when the weathers nice? The Bloom Collection will add a touch of garden flare to any space. Even if there is a design you can’t find in Delos gallery they’ll be happy to custom make one for you. Using any original line drawing, choosing a color not available in the 200 Delos colors, changing a yarn type or picking a shape other than one of the standards are all considered custom orders. Keyword to remember is “original”. Delos will create a custom rug for you but, they aren’t in the business of copying others designs. So if you’ve found an image online make sure you have the proper consent to use it before presenting it to the Delos design team.
There are tons of different ways to welcome summer into your home but, using a seasonal area rug is probably the most affective. Remember to keep the colors simple and designs unique and you’ll have a great piece you’ll be looking forward to bring out of storage year after year.

Contemporary, modern and sleek best describe Johnston Casuals. If you have a space that requires a mod, contemporary aesthetic, Johston Casuals is a great source.

A great canopy bed that does not take up a lot of room. Clean and simple paves the path for this smart and masculine bedroom set.

Dining chairs and daybeds that are contemporary can be one of the most challenging finds. Johnston Casuals has a great selection of dining chairs for the modern ensemble.
