What’s the deal with eastern versus California king sized beds?
Signed: Stumped by Size
Maite’: Eastern King is very, very wide but the same length as a queen. California King is not as wide as an eastern, but is still pretty wide, and four inches longer than a queen.
Daniel: Basically, the question is do you want a preposterously wide bed (eastern) or do you want a preposterously long bed (California.)
Maite’: Aesthetically and functionally, Cal kings make more sense. Tall people need more length. Eastern kings are better for the stout set.
Daniel: Who you callin’ stout? Eastern kings mean you’ll bother your partner less, which is very important if, say, you can’t remember their name.
Maite’: The huge width of an Eastern king generally leaves only room for disproportionately puny nightstands. And I take no responsibility for Daniel’s salacious remarks.
Daniel: Who you callin’ salacious?
