Question: I love fresh flowers in the summertime. I work hard at growing a beautiful garden and enjoy the fruits of my labor by using fresh cuts in vases. The problem is…sometimes the flowers stain fabrics and I am at loss how to get out the stains gently. Do you have any suggestions?
Answer: Congratulations on the joys of a beautiful garden. Flowers can sometimes leave a stain, especially if the colored petal portion gets wet, so try to avoid getting petals wet. As far as a cleaning solution, we often recommend the gentle product called, Dreft Baby Spray Stain Remover. It gets most stains out without ruining the fabric itself. Don’t forget you can also get longevity with your flowers in the winter months should you choose to dry them. This is a simple process where you tie a bunch and hang upside down in a dark cool room, like a garage or basement.
