10 Top Chandeliers

December 23rd, 2009. Categories: Lighting

Margo

Chrome with Crystal Accents and Cream or Chocolate Silk Hard Back Shades. Adjustable Pole with 3 Connectible Lengths of Rods: 6″, 12″, and 18″. The Margo Chandelier from AF Lighting and designed by Candice Olsen has an extremely grand presence in all rooms.

Lighting

The Palm Springs chandelier is designed for the modern McMansion by Varaluz Lighting. Complete with three tiers and 16 lamps this 62″ tall lighting fixture is going to turn heads toward the ceiling right when people walk in the front door. A huge piece perfect for you and your modern home.

Maxim 7L Iron Beaded Chandelier

One of my all time favorites, this stunning chandelier from Arteriors features 8 lights and hundreds of beautifully strung metal beads which drape elegantly down from the top of the fixture to three tiers and losely hanging at the base. Dimensions: H: 46” • 22” Dia

wine barrel planet chandelier - 6 candle & 8 candle

Bohemian Chic – These wine barrel planet chandelier’s come in either a 6 candle or 8 candle design. Made from reclaimed French Oak wine barrel stave’s and copper metal hoops with a waxed rust finish. From the great people at Bobo Intriguing Objects. Dimensions: 6 Candle: 27″ height, 34” diameter. 8 Candle: 34” height, 44″ diameter.

Pendant

A great art piece as well as a functional chandelier this hand blown glass sculpture from Christopher Guy has high end style and design written all over it. Made up of over one hundred different delicately blown glass spheres and shapes installing this piece can be a dangerous process so make sure to hire the pros to help you with this beautiful chandelier.

Chandelier

This unique chandelier from Crystorama has been made for the lover of the shabby chic life style. It’s antique white  leaf and Sage Green accented motif make this chandelier part of the Paris Flea Market Collection. It is adorned with Rose Tulips that add a feminine touch.
Dimensions: W39″ H29″ Bulbs: 12-60W Candle

twig Chandelier

If you are looking to get inspired by nature then have we found the Chandelier for you. Take a walk in the woods or welcome home the wood nymphs with this outstanding chandelier from Deanna Wish Designs. Made of Briarwood twigs this piece has an impressive diameter of either 60″, 42″ or 48″ comes with 14 lights and a height of 42″ or 48″

16047 - Black and Clear Chandelier

Delicate and dainty, this two light chandelier from Imax Corp gives us the sense of a 1940’s throwback with it’s classic black and crystal design. Dripping in fine crystal beads this piece is perfect for any small guest bath room or girls princess suite!

Lighting

A new favorite of mine, the Honors chandelier from Varaluz is made up of a 13-light fixture with raw silk shades and matching tassels. The style and design suggents a romantic morrocan setting or a spainish hotel lobby. The names obviously comes from the use of the small tassels and I think that this piece graduates at the top of it’s class, with honors of course!

Reggio Pendant

For the ultra modernist’s among us, I introduce the Reggio Pendant by Nuevo Furniture. Contemporary pendant lamp with polypropylene shades and chrome canopy you can choose from white clear or chrome. The seven lamps will surely be enough to light the dining table or game table. This piece is young and fresh and a great addition to any first home.

Watch the video below for info on how to install you new Chandelier!

The folks at The Martha Blog show us the steps it takes to hang big crystal chandeliers.

Do you know the Jasper Cabinet Company?

December 22nd, 2009. Categories: Home Storage

Three Drawer Chest

In the 1960’s, Jasper developed a gun cabinet without the aid of a designer.  It later became the most copied piece of furniture Jasper ever made.  The gun cabinet was later developed into a display cabinet and the curio cabinet was born.  Also, during the 60’s the flat top desk was developed into a roll-top desk with a smooth roll curtain that would not be a dust collector.

Chest

A New York investment company, G.L. Ohrstrom & Company, purchased Jasper Cabinet Company in 1972.  Jasper Cabinet was part of a group of furniture companies known as Dorset Corporation.  They held the business until 1986 when it was acquired by Avenir Group, Inc.  Avenir Group, Inc., due to a crippling strike in 1999 from which it never fully recovered, closed its doors in October of 2002. In July of 2005, Jasper Cabinet was restarted with our present line as shown under Products.

Beverage Cabinet

Jasper Cabinet Company developed into one of the fine furniture factories in the country.  Jasper Cabinet was recognized as the leader in its field and the innovator of many of the fine features of American made furniture.

Kent Writing Desk

Jasper Cabinet was the world’s leading producer of top quality secretaries, curio cabinets, desks, entertainment furniture, gun cabinets, chests, and other accent furniture. Jasper Cabinet is a custom manufacturer, offering a wide variety of finishes, hand-decorating, wood species, decorative veneers and other options.  For many companies accent is a sideline and not very important.  For Jasper Cabinet Company, accent is everything.

The Tree Alternative

Images from Desire to Inspire and The Red Thread

Our friends over at Apartment Therapy have collected great examples of what else you can do incase the thought of a 7′ tree in your living room is overwhelming or if like me you just don’t want to deal with the clean up. Who said that your tree has to be a real tree anyways. I usually put together my fake white tree and light a pine scented candle, it does the trick!

The Theme Christmas Tree

December 17th, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Theme trees are gaining popularity every year. Many people find that theme trees allow further personalization of holiday decorating since they can be decorated with special collections or items of interest. Often, a family adds a second tree and makes it a theme tree because they don’t want to part with their traditional tree and ornaments. A theme can be anything. Just think of something you like—a color, a decorating style, a shape—and start your theme from there. There are so many ornaments available that you’ll find plenty of things to hang on your tree.

Here are some idea for theme trees. Use one of these, or let your imagination run wild:

Stylish Silk Florals for your Home

December 16th, 2009. Categories: Decorative Accessories

Oriental Ficus Ladder Fishtail Palm

House Plants from Natural Decoration INC.

Don’t you just love the lively and refreshing scent of fresh flowers? Don’t you hate that they die after only a week? I do, and luckily now there are great silk floral out there that give you all the stylish flare and personalized touch of real flowers but without the clean up. They might not give off the same scent as real flowers but I’m sure we can find you a nice scented candle to do the trick.

Orchids with bamboo in bowlModern White Orchid from Distinctive Designs

House plants are the same way. You never know when to water them or how much light the need to survive. You’re supposed to place them outside for a bit of time on nice days so they can soak up the fresh air or in their case the CO2. But how many of us are guilty of plant neglect? I know that I have irresponsibly cut down a plant or two in my day and now I can happily Windex my plants about every three months to keep them nice and shiny.

A tall mix of Red Roses and Hydrangea in a 4.5

I know that there are alot of bad words said about faux flowers: tacky, cheap and low-end are just some that I have heard over the years. Now though, the Faux floral manufactuers have stepped up there game and have really created one of a kind pieces that look almost real. Arrangements can go for upwards of $60 to $100. So cheap no more these flowers are sophisticated and perfect for all homes.

Young Bachelors, listen up! Faux florals aren’t just for your mother or girlfriend anymore either. Get creative and bring some class to your pad. not only will your girl appreciate the warmth they bring to your Ikea sofa and hand me down end tables but they will make you look like you care about the enviroment around you. Now just cause I said florals this doesn’t mean you need to buy flowers, you can go for something a bit more masculine like the cool bonsai tree seen below.

The styles and options are endless when it comes to silk flowers and we mean that in more ways then one!

Eye on Furniture: Dining Table

December 14th, 2009. Categories: Dining Room

Natural Table

Bring the best of both worlds into your home with this unique table from Asian Art Imports. The glass top screams modern decor and the base has eco-chic written all over it. Paired with great seating, possibly a bench, and your dinner parties will get alot more exciting. Made from teakwood the base is 23″ square and stands 29″ tall.

Dining Table

Apple Table in Acacia gets it’s name from the general shape of the piece. This is a great three legged table that has a great naturalistic look that can be incorporated into many different settings.

Free Edge Dining Table

Free Edge Table is the deffinition of nature taking it’s course when talking about furniture. The tables imperfections are what makes it beautiful and the free form edge makes a nice contrast to any traditional or modern chair.

The “C” Table from White Design

December 10th, 2009. Categories: Furniture Design, Green Design

POD White Scott C Table

Curving around like the crest of a plywood wave, the “C” table—designed by Albuquerque-based Scott White, with a little help from Mara Schweikert of Soma Interiors—hollows out beneath a flat top to make space for a stack of magazines. Scrap from each piece is then used to create additional accessories, resulting in a highly efficient, low-waste system. This is such a great design for modern living. We especially enjoy the magazine rack base. We are looking forward to what other possible finishes the team at white design come up with for this great piece.

Designer Bathrooms from Hooker Furniture

December 9th, 2009. Categories: Bathroom

Hooker bathroom sink cabinet

Are you getting tired of your bathroom and dread the idea of a costly and time consuming renovation? Well how about you take the process one step at a time and start by adding a new level of luxury with these beautiful sink cabinets from Hooker Furniture. The styles are great and match any need, from modern to traditional there is a cabinet that is right for you.

Hooker bathroom sink cabinet

This is a great smaller sized vanity perfect for the french country enthusiast. The patina finish and slightly warn edges offer a fun stylized quality that really only happens after years of age. This is a way to get that aged look with out having to rough up the wood your self or wait for the finish to happen. The open bottom storage looks great and houses the basket full of bathroom accessories beautifully.

Hooker bathroom sink cabinet

Probably my gold award winner of the Hooker Furniture set, this sink cabinet has rich high end style with a sense of old world quality. Modeled after an 18th Century apothecary chest the multiple drawer pulls are actually doors. This piece has a bit more of a masculine vibe but the quality and combination of wood and stone work well in any stylish persons bath room.

hooker bathroom sink cabinet

Doesn’t it look like a piece you’d find in an old timey barbershop? This is a twin basin top piece that has multiple storage compartments to tuck away all of your perfumes, balms, lotions and suds. The piece comes with faucets or you can request to have different ones installed after the piece arrives. Make sure you call Joe the plumber for some help on that one!

GROOVYSTUFF COMPLETES FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL CERTIFICATION FROM THE RAINFOREST ALLIANCE

Select Products Will Carry the FSC-Recycled Label

DALLAS, TX – With 10 successful years in home furnishings under its belt, sustainable style expert and home furnishings manufacturer Groovystuff has been awarded with the elite Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification from the Rainforest Alliance.

Groovystuff_Prairie_Collection_3_Horizontal_

To achieve its certification, Groovystuff spent the past year and a half developing adequate tracking and handling procedures for the Thai manufacturing facility from which it purchases reclaimed teakwood products – mostly teak and rosewood wagon wheels and oxen yokes – which are then manufactured into the company’s unique line of upper-medium and high-end home furnishings for both indoors and outdoors. In addition, Groovystuff had to ensure that workers in the Thai facility had sufficient training on FSC chain of custody requirements for handling post-consumer reclaimed materials. Groovystuff developed procedures, work instructions and a training manual to cover the handling of post-consumer materials from the time of procurement through production and final sale.

Groovystuff_Iron_Horse_Collection2_Horizontal

Sheryl Saxton, Groovystuff’s Sustainability Officer, has overall responsibility for managing the chain of custody program, as well as overseeing Groovystuff’s overall corporate environmental commitment.

Light the Menorah, Spin the Dradle

December 3rd, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

http://www.jhsum.org/jewishwomenexhibit/images/linoff.jpgIt’s that time of year again for Chanukah festivities! I am traditionally a Christmas Celebrator but I have several friends who take part in their family’s tradition of 7 days of gift giving. I wasn’t really clear on what Chanukah really involved so I decided to do a bit of research. Turns out that decorating for the holidays is getting more and more popular. I know my friends who are Jewish tend to stick to the non-descript Frosty the snow man figurines because he promote Winter not Christmas. Also, large yellow Stars of David tend to be tradition but how about some fun new decoration ideas? I’ve compiled a group of shots that I think are a fun way to celebrate the holiday!

A great table setting from Southern Accents via Cote de Texas. I personally love cobalt blue so this is a dining space I would love to take part in.

This arrangement from Marco Island Florists is a beautiful example of a centerpiece or even a hostess gift.

This is also a great Idea from Pottery Barn. Give your guests a new set of candles to replace this years. Buy the candles in bulk from Ikea or your local craft store and simple tie a ribbon around them. Have them on a table at the front door ready to give to guests as they leave.

Last but not least take a cue from the White House and mix your Holiday Decor. This is great for all the mixed religion families out there!

Custom Sofa Upholstery

December 2nd, 2009. Categories: Sofas

Solana Sofa

The first thing to consider is what style suits your taste and lifestyle? Do you prefer sleek modern lines or cozy traditional styling. Do you want a slip covered style where you can remove the covers to wash or dry clean, or, do you prefer the crisp tailored appearance of a fully upholstered style? Do you prefer traditional turned wood legs in an espresso color, or a tailored kick pleated skirt with a more formal appearance?

Trevis Sofa

Chloe sofa

Next is the configuration and size. Measure your room and determine what size and configuration is best suited to your room. Perhaps a sofa and an armchair, or, maybe an L-shaped sectional with attached chaise for the media room is best suited for your family. Whatever your needs, chances are we can help you create the perfect sofa for your room. For fabrics, look at the choices of patterns and colors on our site, if you want any particular swatches mailed to your home click on the swatch request button to request. Measure the space you have to work with ( width, height and depth), take notes or details about your arrangement, and give us a call to begin the process of creating your one of a kind, customized sofa.

Monica Sofa

The selection and prices at Custom Sofa Design are truly unbeatable. If you’re someone who has a specific design in mind and want something customized to fit your needs–this would be the place to go. The services offered truly reflect the name, you are able to request a couch that had a higher back and deeper seat than what was shown on the web site so make sure you know what you want when ordering. The fabric options and styles are great and fit any setting.

Thanksgiving is Behind Us, Time to Light the Tree

December 1st, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Welcome to the Yuletide season! The air is cold and the fireplace is lit; or at least the radiator is spewing out heat, right? Well it’s that time of year again, time to pull the decorations out of the closet and deck the halls. This has to be one of my favorite times of the year. I usually invite some of my friends over and make a round of Hot totties well playing Christmas Carols and decorating the tree. I know that might sound a little sentimental but traditions are important.

After searching catalogs and rummaging through design blogs I have compiled a group of pretty amazing interiors to inspire your holiday decor. The best always show color schemes that can be changed as the season progress. The photo above is a great example of how adding red accents to your space can really bring you into the holiday season.

http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/images/holiday-decor-ENTER1206-de.jpg

Here is a great example from Country Living that by adding different tones of green to your space using fresh floral and other accents can create a classy and subtle holiday environment.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3212/3079036636_2eb03e489f_o.jpg

This is an inspiring interior from This is Glamourous. The blue toned decor has become more and more popular over the past couple of years and this year you should consider mixing your blues to create a deliciously entertaining space.

http://lioninthesunflorals.com/images/Christmas_Tree_Decoration.jpg

So however you decide to decorate your home these holidays make sure you keep it personal and remember that even if you only have 20 dollars to spend on decor keep it precious and get creative.

Paper Turkey for Thanksgiving?

November 24th, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Paper Craft Turkey or Chicken

Are your cooking skills less then steller? Did you over cook the turkey during last months run through? Then go modern and buy your thanksgiving feast ready made. I think your guest would much rather you spent the time thumbing through the menu of your favorite rotisserie than serving a less than delicious meal. Bite the bullet and fake it! This gives you more time to focus on what is really important, the Decor!

Thanksgiving Table top Ideas

Most place have Thanksgiving meal specials that include sides and the turkey ready for pick up. The grocery chain Meijer even allows orders as late as 24 hours before Thanksgiving, that is awesome. So don’t stress out place the sides in your own bowls and serving ware and if you want you can get the turkey Par-cooked so all you have to do is keep it in the oven on low and bast occasionally to finish it of. Just make sure you have a partner in on the secret to keep guest from finding out the truth! HehHehHeh! They’ll never know!

Personalize your Thanksgiving Table Settings

November 22nd, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Thanksgiving Table top Ideas

A great way to add a bit of personalization to your holiday table setting is to pay attention to detail. Here are some great ideas for your family gathering form Country Living. Instead of the tradition table place card take this idea of wrapping a handwritten piece of ribbon around the wine goblets saying why you are thankful for each guest.

Thanksgiving Table top Ideas

Don’t have the time to get that fancy then go traditional; its a tradition for a reason. Beautiful handcrafted papers and designer table cards are always in style and if you have good handwriting then all the better. For a more economical solution purchase blank business cards from the nearest office supply store and type up the place card using a fun graphic you find online.

Thanksgiving Table top Ideas

For those who have a little bit more time on your hands or friends who are willing to help can use stamps to personalize each place setting’s napkin. This is a great way to jazz up paper napkins too, even if you only do the initials to make it a bit easier and less time consuming. Check out your nearest craft stores for stamps and ink. Even choosing a maple leaf or pumpkin stamp is a nice way to personalize something that is so utilitarian.

Thanksgiving Table top Ideas

This is my favorite idea. By using fresh pears, pumpkins, gourds, apples and pomegranates not only are you making something personal but it is edible as well. Even if your guest are to full on turkey, after dinner combine the fruit and place them in a nice dish or bowl to make a nice centerpiece for the rest of the evening.

4 Easy Wall Murals

November 19th, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Need wall art but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to hire a professional? Then put away the pocket book and get ready to peel and stick! We have scoured the internet and found what we believe are the best of the best when it comes to style, price and ease of installation. Wall murals are a great way to add character to a room without making a long term investment that will eventually need to be painted over. Wall murals are also a great way to interject personal style to teens and kids bedrooms whose tastes change yearly if not monthly.

Furniture Color Trends

November 18th, 2009. Categories: Trends

Metallica Bombe Chest

Metallic hues like gold, silver, bronze and copper are becoming more and more popular in the home as well as in fashion design. This unique piece from Currey and Co. has artistic flare that will draw anyone’s attention. The shape and style are modeled after ancient Chinese furniture.

Wood tones that feature large grainy textures are taking place of the popular java or espresso tones. Stained furniture often means that you are buying anti-”green” home furnishings. Unless the piece has been stained or sealed with a water based treatment the furniture can not be considerd eco-friendly. So beware the green washing and look to more natural tone like the one seen here from Oggetti.

Tall Sideboard

Orange is very popular right now as are reds and other warm tones. Warm toned furniture might be bold or loud but when placed in the right space with other color appropriate furnishings and wall color it can be right on the money. This tall sideboard in orange from Red Egg has so much personality that your other furniture will be jealous. Now I’m sure you are wondering what other colors you’d incorporate with orange and the answer is: blues, browns, white or hot pink. Think FUN FUN FUN!

Cocktail Table

Go Green! In this case we don’t only mean Eco-Friendly but we mean the color. I know that adding green furniture to a space might be a little on the nose but the color is hot this fall and will make a great impact on your earthy interior. Using colors from nature is a perfect way to bring the outside in and when you mix greens with browns like in this coffee table from CR Currin it makes a great statement.

Oceanic

My Favorite furniture Color trend is BLUE! This desk from A. P. Industries has an oceanic feel and great sensibility. Now I know what you’re thinking, “That piece belongs in a boys room.” well blue furniture isn’t just for boys any more. Adding an occasional piece like this to your space gives you a sense of artistic expression with out going over the top. Simple is better and when working with colored furniture that is key to a great overall design.

Thanksgiving is Around the Corner!

November 17th, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

Thanksgiving for the Novice

Are you excited? Next week is the family holiday we all either love or loath. The family comes together to enjoy grandma’s sweet potatoes, mom’s stuffing and watch as dad slices the turkey; or at least he try’s to slice the turkey before mom steps in and takes over claiming she has a better slicing arm, you know because of dad’s bad elbow. Anyways this is a time of jotful harvest and this should most definitely be seen in your table decor. How are you planning on decorating the table? I think this year I’ll take a que from Southern Accents and go country! Enjoy the inspiration!

Table Top Inspiration from Dining By Design Chicago

November 16th, 2009. Categories: Decorative Accessories

DIFFA Dining By Design Chicago 2009

Above Left: From the folks at Antiquaire this setting really speaks to the country connoisseur a pounded octagonal charger with a simple white plate, decorative appetizer plate and a tweed napkin with matching napkin ring. Above Right: From sponsor table Gabbiano Winery this golden striped setting has a simple sensibility with a lot of design appeal.

Last week at The Merchandise Mart Chicago, over 50 designers displayed their design talents while inspiring the masses. The annual Dining by Design Event is a fundraiser for DIFFA. (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS)  The event has three main events including Cocktails By Design, the Table Hop and Taste and the Dining By Design Gala. During the three events there is a silent auction featuring donations from many of the Mart Showrooms and all proceeds go to support the further research and development of a cure of AIDS. This is a look at some of the most inspiring table settings of the event. To See full tables please follow the link here.

DIFFA Dining By Design Chicago 2009

Above Left: From the creative mind of Kathy Taslitz simple equals stunning. Black place settings with green accents and simple glassware create a classic look that really speaks to designs. Did you notice there aren’t any plates? I like it. Above Right: this is a sophisticated look from Richar Interiors INC. the dark gold rimmed plates, simple stemware, silver beer mugs and petite floral arrangements really create an intimate setting. The candle lantern and striped napkin really finish the feel of the look.

DIFFA Dining By Design Chicago 2009

Above Left: From The Merchandise Mart Design Center this setting has holiday couture written all over it. The red glass dinner and salad plates are unique and really come together well with the leaf appitizer plate. Green napkins folded into a skinny rectangle with berries wraped around in place of a tradition napkin ring finishes the look. Above Right: From the design masters at RL Home really sings. The Designers current look and feel really speaks to the design on this tablescape. A winner completely.

DIFFA Dining By Design Chicago 2009

Above Left: For a more modern look Check out this look from Vesta Hearth and Home Multiple layers of china from the wave dinner plate, orange accent plate, black bowl, and small appitizer plate placed at the bottom of the bowl. Finishes with a set of Chopsticks this is a great modern setting. Above Right: from the Student Designers at Harrington College of Design This is a stylish wave design acheved by placing two plates side by side to create the simple form. The blue ribbon and white napkin help create a line that connects all the elements together.

Inspiration from Nature: Harvest Season

November 5th, 2009. Categories: Design Ideas

http://www.uscsd.k12.pa.us/bakeres/lib/bakeres/fall-harvest.jpg

Get Inspired by the beauty of nature and bring the out doors in. I remember when I was growing up my favorite things about the fall included the smell of bon fires in the air, the change of colors and the decor my mother made sure to spread throughout our entire home. Pumpkin’s and gourds spread around the house made you feel like everyday was spent surrounded by nature. make sure your house says fall with easy and affordable accents from your local farm or grocer.

Seating and Eating Competition – Week 7

October 30th, 2009. Categories: Contests and Competitions

This week is Final Submission Week for the Seating Part of our two part competition. We have some really great work and are looking forward to the second half of the contest.

Keep up the good work.

Chris Orput

I have designed a wall system that was envisioned to be used in either an efficiency style or studio apartment.  It is roughly 8″ deep, 8′H and 8′W,with a aluminum wall that has horizontal metered tracks whcih are separated every two inches.  The seats are aluminum platforms that are roughly 3.5″ Hx 18″ D and 22″ L. It has a housing/tip at the end of the platform that coincides with the groove of the wall system so it can be slid in place and guarantee a tight fit.  There is a retractable leg which is housed in the outside portion of the seat (meaning away from the wall).  The retractable, hinged leg is roughly 14-1/2″ long when open so with the ht the seat added to this dimension the overall ht. would be 18″.  As mentioned, each horizontal track is spaced 2″ apart vertically, so the seat platform would be placed in the 9th track, so it is 18″ off the floor.  Likewise, the table aluminum platform would be placed in the 15th track so it would be 30″ off the floor.

The aluminum eating surface/table platform is 26″D x 2.5″D x 22″ for a single seating and 42″ for a double seating.  All aluminum platforms have holes cut out on either end so they can be hung behind the moveable aluminum track wall and placed in the “closet” portion of the system.  There are aluminum rails inside the closet that can be moved to any ht. and “S” clips that can be used to hang the seating and table platforms when they are not in use.  The aluminum wall track system is hung from casters that have a locking mechanism so when the wall is in place the wheels can be locked and the system will be stationary.

The closet system would have to be bolted into the wall for safety and functionality purposes. but It designed so the system can be moved whenever its owner vacates his/her space. It can be easily reintstalled as holes have been predrilled in the back of the interior of the closet at 16″ on center.  New holes can be drilled into the back if the stud layout is different in your location.  The seats of the bench platforms would be made out of woven bungee cord material in order to provide added flexible comfort.

Laura Schlueter

Retractable shell to allow for the desired amount of privacy and allow for the piece to be used either as a sofa and provide more casual upright seating when retracted or as a pod like bed when slid all the way down. Ideal for small, city type apartments, and for people in single residency homes/studios.

They illustrate the many ways the bentwood ottoman can be used as an eating surface.  It is thin enough to fit between the seams of each modular unit.  As stated before, these modular cushions can be placed in many configurations within the frame, adapting to the needs of busy college students.  When eating, college students are typically studying, watching t.v., or on their computers.
