Are you getting tired of your bathroom and dread the idea of a costly and time consuming renovation? Well how about you take the process one step at a time and start by adding a new level of luxury with these beautiful sink cabinets from Hooker Furniture. The styles are great and match any need, from modern to traditional there is a cabinet that is right for you.
This is a great smaller sized vanity perfect for the french country enthusiast. The patina finish and slightly warn edges offer a fun stylized quality that really only happens after years of age. This is a way to get that aged look with out having to rough up the wood your self or wait for the finish to happen. The open bottom storage looks great and houses the basket full of bathroom accessories beautifully.
Probably my gold award winner of the Hooker Furniture set, this sink cabinet has rich high end style with a sense of old world quality. Modeled after an 18th Century apothecary chest the multiple drawer pulls are actually doors. This piece has a bit more of a masculine vibe but the quality and combination of wood and stone work well in any stylish persons bath room.
Doesn’t it look like a piece you’d find in an old timey barbershop? This is a twin basin top piece that has multiple storage compartments to tuck away all of your perfumes, balms, lotions and suds. The piece comes with faucets or you can request to have different ones installed after the piece arrives. Make sure you call Joe the plumber for some help on that one!
Why buy Hooker?
During their 85 years of operation, they’ve sought to display integrity in their relationships with employees, customers, sales representatives, suppliers and the local communities in which they work. When purchasing Hooker Furniture products, you can have peace of mind that you’re choosing furnishings of enduring quality. Archatrive was founded in the late 1980’s by Lewis Krevolin. It continues to operate as a family business with Deb and Rudy Krevolin at the helm, assisted by their daughter Jessica. Lewis continues to lend design direction to the company. It is located in the Hudson Valley of New York, an area rich with architectural detail and inspiration.
Through their unique real-estate development business, the Krevolins would locate historic houses in up-state New York facing demolition. Rather than let these houses be destroyed, they would de-build them board by board, carefully labeling and documenting each piece. One of the best sustainable design initiatives, this allowed them to integrate the historic structures into new construction and would re-birth the original in the form of large upscale estates.
Now today they continue this idea of re-birth with their great home furnishings. Archatrive’s Deconstructionist Furniture and Decoration has an appealing look. This unique and evolving line is available through showrooms and fine specialty shops throughout the country. Custom work is always welcome and given personal attention
These beds are the company’s best example of the unique marriage of architecture and furniture. The styles found in the bedrooms are found in great architecture from the Gothic Age to the Renaissance. The only requirement you need to worry about when purchasing one of Archatrives beds is the space you have available. The sucess of these pieces is that they are great for the homes with large bedrooms like the historic homes they are dirved from.
My favorite piece from the collection is the Library Bed seen above. This piece will surround even the most avid reader with a large selection of books. Anchored by Four Large Columns that are actually Lamps, both side rails and the footboard serve as built in bookshelves which is the greatest marriage of form and function. Dimensions for this piece are 70″W x 81″H for the queen sized bed with headboard and foot board.

The best part of working with Global Views is the large variety you get to choose from. The bed side table seen above would look great in any setting. Mixing styles is one of the easiest ways to create a stunning home. Some of Global Views’ products have been featured in many high end home décor magazines such as Elle Décor and House Beautiful as well as renowned TV shows such as Divine Design and Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
The floor lamp shown above is a very popular product and is a great option for creating room seperation. These two vases make great accessories in hallways or on a mantel. When grouping objects together remember that hieght changes from one object to the next is pleasing to the eye and a minimum of three object looks best. For instance, if you’re decorating a side table in your living room start with a tall object like a lamp or vase of fresh cut flowers, then add a medium height item. I usually like to incorprate a family photo in a 5″x7″ frame depending on the height of the vase. A sculpture or decorative object also works quite nicely. Finally add a small object like a candle on a dish, a candy bowl, a figurine or other small item and you’ll have a completed look that shows thought and design sensibility.

Shima Furniture is a brain-child of Hans Morsbach’s first love, forestry. The wealth of trees and the beauty of his 450 acre farm in Cazenovia, Wisconsin inspired Morsbach to share this beauty with other folks. He set out to manufacture furniture made from his trees for people to enjoy. Hans Morsbach is also the author of a most widely read book about forestry called Common Sense Forestry.
While oak, ash and walnut are the most commonly used woods in their designs, Shima use’s about 20 other species. Their trees are harvested in an environmentally conscious and sustainable way. All wood is harvested on U.S. land, they never use rain forest wood.
Many of the furniture designs are conceived by Shima’s Amish neighbors. Their religion discourages commercial enterprise and recognition, gratitude and accolades of their creations. Nevertheless, Shima has honored the Amish with the name of their company (try spelling “Shima” backwards). They would like to give more credit to the Amish craftsmen, however, with all due respect, their good Lord won’t let them. Just the same, they would be delighted to talk with you if you choose to visit Shima in Wisconsin.
Laser technology enables Shima to produce precise and lasting inlays. Much of their furniture is adorned with a floral design which they adapted from a traditional Amish quilt. Laser technology enables them to make inlays from any design suggested by customers, which is a great custom option for those who want to put their own artistic stamp on their Shima furniture.
When Hans Morsbach became interested in cultivating trees and managing small woodlands, he searched for a good how-to manual. He never found one, so he decided to write his own. Based on his subsequent experience, combining deep research into the academic literature on forestry with his successes and failures as a small-scale commercial tree farmer, the result is Common Sense Forestry, an indispensable reference for anyone who owns or wants to own wooded property.
Morsbach is an unabashed nature lover as well as a businessman, and well understands the essential importance of a long-term approach to sustainable forest management. In this highly readable and entertaining text, the author offers a comprehensive look at managing existing woodlands by creating, and later maintaining, forests that promote biodiversity while providing an income stream. This comprehensive examination of sustainable forestry includes everything from choosing land to beginning a forest through seeding and transplanting, from pruning and thinning to harvesting trees, from debates over herbicides and clear cutting to working with professional foresters, from business strategies to tax planning. When it comes to design more times than most, simpler is better. This approach has definitely been taken to heart by Bolier & Company whose simply elegant furnishings will bring style, comfort and distinction to any home. Their passion for beauty and their desire to create pieces which offer clean lines and elegant shapes comes through in all aspects of their work. Above you see an interior space that has been designed using the company’s Atelier Collection. This collection offers modern sensibility while promoting comfort and use of quality materials.
Bolier offers a select porfolio of classic forms inspired by traditional fine furniture and shaped for modern lifestyles. Each piece reflects a dedication to design. The vision of Bolier comes from it’s founder, Christian Plasman, who draws on his three decades of experience working with respected industry leaders. With his knowledge of furniture, gained while working for Herman Miller, Baker Furniture and HBF, Plaman has created a great company offering exquisite pieces.
Some of my favorite Interiors are those which have a successful collection of furnishings from different era’s. Working with Bolier allows the consumer the opportunity to achieve this popular look. Because Bolier has designed their pieces to reflect some of the more memorable design periods in history. Bolier pieces range from casual elegance to refined luxury. Contemporary pieces of steel and glass paired with a traditional setee in dark wood and cream upholstry will transform your living room into a space worthy the cover of Elle DECOR.
Depending on your design sense and your prefered style I’m almost positive there is a piece of Furniture from Bolier with your name on it. Most notable style influences on Bolier & Co. are the mission period, neoclassicism, mid-century modernism and a mix from traditional Asian furnishings. So next time you’re fliping through your favorite design Magazine and get the inspiration for a mackover remember Bolier for amazing designs and beautiful craftsmenship.
